Eileen M. Currier, 54, of Roslindale, passed away on Friday, December 9th after a brief illness.
Loving daughter of Marion (Phillips) Currier and the late Emery W. Currier. Dear sister of Diane L. Currier and her husband William Mayer of Newton, David E. Currier of Portland ME and Laura A. Currier and her husband Hiro Ichikawa of Beacon NY. Devoted aunt of Liam and his wife Vanessa, David, Kento, Rebecca and Gabriel. Also survived by her beloved dogs, Jake and Romeo as well as countless friends.
Eileen graduated from Boston College in 1984 with a degree in nursing and received her Master's Degree from Northeastern University. She worked as a nurse at Mass General Hospital and then as a Nurse Practitioner for St. Elizabeth's Hospital, caring for the elderly in their homes. She also worked for a time for the Hospice of the Good Shepherd before taking a position at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. Eileen loved taking long walks with her dogs and friends at the Arnold Arboretum. She also enjoyed spending time and visiting with family at Blue Heaven, the family blueberry farm in Dresden, Maine.
A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Cecilia's Church, 18 Belvidere St. in Boston on Wednesday, December 14th at 3:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Immediately following Mass, a reception celebrating Eileen's life will be held until 7PM at the home of Diane Currier, 35 Church St in Newton Corner.
