John Carlo, 78, of Brighton passed away at his home on Jan, 3 2018.
John was raised in Belmont and graduated from Belmont High School. He worked for many years as a cement finisher and later as a painter at Raytheon in Waltham, retiring after 17 years. John was an avid bowler and had participated in the Newton Presbyterian Bowling league, and had won the Mass Bowling Assoc. title in 1977. He was also a longtime member of the Lexington Elks.
John was the beloved husband for 44 years of Muriel (MacDonald) Carlo, the loving father of John and his wife Rita of Revere and Kristen Robillard and her husband Jon of Pawtucket, RI. and dear "Gra" of Joseph and Samantha Carlo and Lincoln Robillard. He was the brother of Peter of FL, Robert of Bedford, Rosie Sacca of Burlington and the late Blanche Wiswell and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His funeral service will be on Mon Jan 8 at 11 AM in the Newton Covenant Church (formerly Newton Presbyterian) 75 Vernon St. Newton Corner followed by interment in The Gardens at Gethsemane. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
Visiting hours Sun 4-8 PM in the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner.
