Peter Jauregui of Newtonville passed away at his home on June 23, 2017 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 54, and lived everyday with optimism, strength, and—of course—a joke.

Peter grew up in Needham and graduated from Needham High School and Mt. Ida College. For over 15 years, he and his brothers owned and operated the Busy B Pub in Watertown. His childhood friends, teammates, regulars and very extended family were lucky to share his laughter and companionship. He loved his family very deeply, and enjoyed nothing more than inviting family and friends over for a cookout on the deck.

He was the beloved husband of Karen A. (Sokolowski) Jauregui and loving father of Jake and Andrea. He was the son of Anita Jauregui and the late Ignacio Jauregui of Needham, and brother of Maria Jauregui of Newton, Teodoro and his wife Gail of Newton, Ignacio of Needham, Monica Crowley and her husband Paul of Newton, and the late Jon Jauregui. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 29 at Noon in Our Lady Help of Christians Church, Newton followed by an interment in Newton Cemetery. Relatives and friends are all invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday, June 28 from 4-8PM the Eaton & Mackay Funeral Home, 465 Centre Street, Newton Corner.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The MGH Prostate Cancer Research Fund c/o Dr. Matthew Smith, 55 Fruit Street, Yawkey 7E, Boston, MA 02114.
